Klikkaa tästä suomenkieliseen versioon

TenelShelter is a modular precast civil protection shelter system developed for rapid deployment, simple local installation and reliable long-term protection.

TenelShelter element system is prefabricated at Tenel’s factory in Kouvola. Usage of Tenel’s wall and roof slab elements speeds up the on-site shelter construction by up to 80%. The contractor can choose to install the elements themselves or order the installation directly from Tenel. The solution is considerably more cost-effective and faster than current traditional methods.

TenelShelters are made from low-carbon concrete elements

The building materials and the construction work itself are key sources of the carbon dioxide emissions caused by construction. Tenel has taken on the challenge: the factory produces some of Finland’s lowest-carbon concrete elements, with a carbon footprint up to 35% smaller than ordinary concrete elements.

The carbon footprint of Tenel’s concrete elements has been verified with third-party audited EPD certificates. An EPD is a life-cycle-analysis-based report compliant with the EN 15804 standard, setting out the environmental impacts across the product’s entire life cycle. Verified by an independent third party and internationally recognised, an EPD provides straightforward evidence of a product’s sustainability. EPD calculations can be used directly in a project’s carbon footprint assessment.
